Kat Hing Wai in Kam Tin is one of the District's best-known walled villages. It is the ancestral home of the Tangs, a famous clan in the territory. Built by the family 500 years ago, it is a rectangular walled village with an area of 100 meters X 90 meters. As a family stronghold, Kat Hing Wai has served the Tangs well through the centuries. This was a stop on a tour, and I am not even sure of it's name - but I know they specialize in "Hang Hueng Wife Cakes" -- or is the name of the bakery "Hang Hueng" and they sell "Wife Cakes". I'd give the world to know. Well, that is an exaggeration, but it would be nice to know, as their wife cakes were really good.
