Stepping Back Into Time - My Visit to the Walled City of York

York is one of the most intriguing cities in England. The superbly preserved walled city has witnessed more than 2000 years of vibrant history. Award-winning attractions abound. With over 30 museums, galleries and tours to choose from in its compact center, Highlights of England's finest historic city include Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe; the medieval Shambles shopping district with its leaning and quaint shops; a stroll around the city walls and a cruise on the River Ouse. The day in York was like stepping into a movie.
