| Yiwu – China’s Commodity Center and one of Sam's Exotic TravelsYiwu (or Yi Wu), is located in central Zhejiang Province in the People's Republic of China. Located in the Province of Zhejiang, it is located 160 km south of the city of Hangzhou, the provincial capital, and 300 km away from Shanghai. Yiwu is a leading commodities center within China. It’s “China Small Commodities City Exhibition Center” is one of the largest exhibition halls in East China and local are major producers and wholesalers of arts and crafts; gifts and premiums; fashion accessories and home supplies and decorative articles for resale throughout China and the world. Founded in the Qin dynasty, some 2,200 years ago, it is located in a mountainous region and is home to 1 million people. I visited Yiwu on the way to and from Pu Jiang County, as Yiwu has the closest train service from Guangzhou, during February 2006.
