Yangon - The Golden City of SE Asia & One of Sam's Exotic Travels

Yangon, the capital of Myanmar, despite 4 million residents, has a rural look and feel with its tree-lined boulevards, its two lakes and river setting. The golden Shwedagon Paya rises high above the skyline and is visible from much of the city, a very impressive sight. Paris is noted for its Eiffel Tower, London for the London Bridge and Big Ben, but these and others look pale in comparison to this city’s namesake. Yangon is truly a beautiful city and should be high on anyone’s vacation list.
