Tony Helsloot is a Dutch photographer based in Amsterdam with over 20 years of experience in the audio-visual sector. His earlier work included projecting his photographs during live music and theatre performances and making video clips for MTV. His slide and video projections have been used in exhibitions and shows for Hugo Boss, Lufthansa and Mitsubishi amongst others. Recently he has also made a number of relaxing nature films for the Ambient Collection. Tony's photographs have been published in various music and travel magazines and have appeared on several album covers.
After taking up photography on a full-time basis, Tony realised that the majority of his time was taken up searching for the most photogenic places and the best points from which to shoot them and that's when he came up with the idea of World Photo Locations, a website which aims to provide the photographer with the information they need. He now runs the site with his partner, Liz Jones, and says: "We hope that our findings will let photographers make the most of the opportunities, help improve their photographs, and perhaps lead them to places they otherwise wouldn't have visited. Rather than just showing our photographs, we thought it would also be nice to give something back to the photographic community."
