| Toledo - Imposing Medieval Fortress in Central SpainToledo is a city and municipality located in central Spain, about 70 kilometers south of Madrid. It is the capital of the province of Toledo and of the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986, due to its extensive cultural and monumental heritage as one of the former capitals of the Spanish Empire and place of coexistence of Christian, Jewish and Moorish cultures. A World Heritage Site, Toledo's old city inside the walls is an enchanting place. Its mosques, synagogues, churches and museums all remain as tribute to the city's history and its rulers. Its narrow cobblestone streets, plazas and inner patios offer new surprises around every corner.
All photos below are posted to Flickr! Viewing albums on Flickr is a little tricky. The easiest way is (1) open the set and then (2) choose Detail view in the lower left corner. This will open the set so you can see a larger thumbnail of each photo and its description. If you do this, you can quickly view thumbnails and expand to see enlarged views for any and all pictures. You may also choose to view each set as a Slide Show. If you have an account with Flickr and you sign in, I would also appreciate any comments you might have and your vote for your favorite photos.
