Worldwide Photography With Timeshares

Create the Perfect Photo

There's more to a successful photography expedition than simply being in the right place at the right time, but no avid photographer would argue that it doesn't hurt. Whether photography is a favorite hobby or a lifelong career choice, traveling is inevitable. That's why, in recent years, many photographers have decided to buy a timeshare so that they may travel anywhere their heart (and camera) might take them.

Travel the World With Timeshares

You might be wondering how purchasing a vacation property in one locale will help you explore the globe year after year; but timeshares are actually extremely flexible. A timeshare purchase is actually a purchase of time. More specifically, it's a purchase of the right to use an increment of time at the resort of your choice every year or every other year. Because your purchase is less tangible than actual property, it's very simple to trade your time at your "home resort" (the resort that is deeded or contracted out to you) for a week anywhere in the world.

Buy Membership With a Vacation Club

There are a couple of ways you can use a timeshare to travel. Perhaps the most common option is built right in to your property. If you buy timeshare with an expansive accommodation company like Marriott or Westgate, you can use your allotted time with them to travel to any of their locations in the world. That means that you can travel to Marriott's Aruba Ocean Club one year, and their Boston locale the next. Membership with these clubs tends to be slightly more expensive than membership with less well-established vacation clubs, but most owners find the added flexibility well worth the initial cost.

Or Work With an Exchange Company

It's also important to consider individual clubs' specific rules regarding trade. For example, when you buy Marriott timeshares resale, you won't be able to participate in the Marriott points program outlined above. Rather, with a resale property you'll have to attain membership with Interval International, or another independently owned exchange company, to travel the world.

It's Simple Exchange companies like RCI and Interval International create affiliations with thousands of resorts all over the world. They then offer membership to owners of these resorts. Membership allows owners to trade their week at their home resort for a week anywhere within the network at a resort of similar quality. Whatever you choose, timeshares can help make your photography expeditions around the world convenient and cost-effective.
