Sam's Exotic Travels to Surat, India - City of Friendly People India's largest diamond cutting center, Surat is also noted for its apparel manufacturing. It is a medium-sized city a 3-hour train ride south from Mumbai.
I visited Surat in October 2003 on a business trip. It is a religious city, and all stores are closed on Sunday when I arrived, so I had to content myself with walking around and watching the people. They were beautiful, friendly and open. Click below to view: Surat Photos - posted to Flickr! - Viewing albums on Flickr is a little tricky. The easiest way is (1) open the set and then (2) choose Detail view in the lower left corner. This will open the set so you can see a larger thumbnail of each photo and its description. If you do this, you can quickly view thumbnails and expand to see enlarged views for any and all pictures. I would also appreciate any comments you might have and your vote for your favorite photos.
