Sam's Exotic Travels to Pokhara - Gateway to the AnapurnasPokhara is situated in the northwestern corner of the Pokhara Valley, which is a widening of the Seti Gandaki valley. In the south the city borders on Phewa Tal (a lake, 4.4 km˛, about 800 m above sea level), in the north at around 1000 m it touches the base of the Annapurna mountain range. From the southern fringes of the city one has an exceptional view of the Himalaya with 3 eight-thousanders (Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu) and, in the middle of the Annapurna range the wonderful Machapuchare ('Fishtail') with close to 7000 m. This beautiful mountain dominates the northern horizon of the city and its name derives from its twin peaks, not visible from the south.
My pictures of Pokhara are as follows: 2006: All photos below were taken by Diana Han, my step daughter and are posted to Flickr! Viewing albums on Flickr is a little tricky. The easiest way is (1) open the set and then (2) choose Detail view in the lower left corner. This will open the set so you can see a larger thumbnail of each photo and its description. If you do this, you can quickly view thumbnails and expand to see enlarged views for any and all pictures. I would also appreciate any comments you might have and your vote for your favorite photos.
