The Metamorphosis of Pittsburgh PA USA

When I lived across the state line in Youngstown in the 1970's, Pittsburgh was Steel City USA, with houses and skies darkened from the soot and pollution.  Like a butterfly, Pittsburgh has been reborn since then into a regional financial and cultural center.  With leading universities, museums and a historic past, Pittsburgh is a city on the move.  Unfortunately, my wife and I spent time there in September '07 to get our son enrolled in one of the universities there, and had little time for sightseeing.  The downtown is a jewel surrounded by three rivers but no pictures this trip, as most of our time was spent in its Oakland neighborhood and its university surroundings.

My photo albums of Pittsburgh are below.  All photos have been posted to Flickr!   If you are a member of Flickr, I would appreciate any comments you might have and your vote for your favorites.
