| Manila - American Cemetery & Memorial - One of Sam's Exotic TravelsThe largest cemetery in the Pacific of Americans killed during WWII is located in the Philippines, within the grounds of the former U.S. Army Fort William McKinley (now Fort Bonifacio), located about six miles SW of Manila. Its 152 acres contains 17,206 graves. For me, it was a sobering experience - seeing the many American young men who lost their lives serving their country and the free world. At least, they have a quiet and peaceful resting place -- so far from home and family.
To view my highlight photo album, click below: All photos in the album above are posted to Flickr! Viewing albums on Flickr is a little tricky. The easiest way is (1) open the set and then (2) choose Detail view in the lower left corner. This will open the set so you can see a larger thumbnail of each photo and its description. If you do this, you can quickly view thumbnails and expand to see enlarged views for any and all pictures. I would also appreciate any comments you might have and your vote for your favorite photos.
You can change the images in this Flickr panel by pressing the F5 key Why not bookmark this site - and when you finish your tour, please sign the Guestbook and let me know what you think.
