| Illinois - Sam's Travel in time to the Windy City of Chicago - my "former" hometownLocated on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan, Chicago is America’s third largest city with a metro population of 9 million plus. Also known as the Windy City, Chicago is a clean, vibrant city with great museums, restaurants, entertainment and nightlife. Having lived in Chicago for six years, I looked forward to the September 2005 trip with great anticipation. Although the main purpose is enroll my step-daughter at the University of Chicago, we got a chance to visit the “Loop” (downtown Chicago, so named as the metro train or El makes a loop of the downtown area), eat in Greektown, catch some Chicago blues and to get a few shots around the University itself. The weather wasn’t great – but you can't have everything. I hope you like my impressions of one of my favorite cities in the world
