| Sam's Exotic Travels to Giza Egypt, A Popular Tourist Destination for 2500 YearsGiza (also known as Gizah or el-Gīzah) is a town in Egypt on the west bank of the Nile river, some 20 km southwest of central Cairo and now part of the greater Cairo metropolis. It is the capital of the Al Jizah Governorate, and is located near the northeast border of this governorate. It has a population of 2.7 million in the city proper. Giza is most famous as the location of the Giza Plateau: the site of some of the most impressive ancient monuments in the world, including a complex of ancient Egyptian royal mortuary and sacred structures, including the Great Sphinx, the Great Pyramid of Giza, and a number of other large pyramids and temples.
I had two trips to the Great Pyramids, so follow the links below to see the historic sites: You can also click below to view my impressions of daily life in Giza Want to bookmark my site so you can easily find it again - click here: Why not bookmark this site - and when you finish your tour, please sign the Guestbook and let me know what you think.
