Dujiangyan Irrigation System - Chengdu, Sichuan Province, ChinaSituated on the upper and middle reaches of the Minjiang River in west Chengdu Plain, the Dujiangyan Irrigation System is a historical and cultural site in the Dujiangyan City, a tourist city honored by relevant Chinese national departments. As a landmark water conservancy project, for the last 2,200 years the water contraol project has been serving as an agricultural lifeline of the west Chengdu Plain. The system is made up of Yuzui Dyke, Feishayan, a spill for discharging flood and silt, and Baopingkou, a main diversion gate to draw in water for irrigation.
A small confession - I am normally off doing my own thing - especially in a group of 600 photographers - and I went right and didn't notice they went left - so while I was exploring the park and the surrounding city streets, the group was walking up the hills to see the converging waters from the irrigation project - which i missed. The performers did a cermony for our group - being there first I took most of mine before it started.

All photos are posted to Flickr! Viewing albums on Flickr is a little tricky. The easiest way is (1) open the set and then (2) choose Detail view in the lower left corner. This will open the set so you can see a larger thumbnail of each photo and its description. If you do this, you can quickly view thumbnails and expand to see enlarged views for any and all pictures. I would also appreciate any comments you might have and your vote for your favorite photos. You can change the images in the above Flickr panels by pressing the F5 key ◊ How would you like never to buy another spare memory card for your holiday trip? ◊ How would you like never to miss a shot because your memory card is full? ◊ How would you like to upload your pictures while on a shoot and free up your media card without lugging your notebook computer around? |
