Delhi - Something Old, Something New - One of Sam's Exotic Travels
Delhi history dates back for 4,500 years - much as an imperial capital and the home of kings. Today it is the capital of united India and India's 3rd largest city with a population of almost 14 million.
Old Delhi, the capital of Muslim India between the mid-17th to the late 19th centuries, is a lively and crowded area, full of colorful bazaars, narrow streets with many mosques, monuments and remains of ancient forts. In contrast New Delhi, the imperial city created in the early 20th century by the British rulers, with spacious tree-lined avenues and imposing government buildings, presents a sense of order missing from the older sector.

Delhi Photos- posted to Flickr! - Viewing albums on Flickr is a little tricky. The easiest way is (1) open the set and then (2) choose Detail view in the lower left corner. This will open the set so you can see a larger thumbnail of each photo and its description. If you do this, you can quickly view thumbnails and expand to see enlarged views for any and all pictures. I would also appreciate any comments you might have and your vote for your favorite photos.
