A Scenic Drive Down California's Hwy 1 from Carmel to San Luis Obispo

The long and winding road along California Hwy 1 from Monterey/Carmel to the north to San Luis Obispo lies along the rocky coast of the Pacific Ocean. While it is slow going, the view is worth the time. While I haven't yet seen the coast in Oregon and Washington, this is one of most favorite places. I did the drive in October 2006, and for once I was hoping for mist and fog - but even on a sunny day it was spectacular. My only regret was that my photos doesn't do this 100+ mile stretch of coastline, its hills and rocky coastline justice. I found it humorous that their were designated "view points" along the way - when the entire trip it was difficult to keep my eyes on the road and not the beautiful and rugged surroundings.

All photos are posted to Flickr!  Viewing albums on Flickr is a little tricky.  The easiest way is (1) open the set and then (2) choose Detail view  in the lower left corner.  This will open the set so you can see a larger thumbnail of each photo and its description.  If you do this, you can quickly view thumbnails and expand to see enlarged views for any and all pictures.  I would also appreciate any comments you might have and your vote for your favorite photos.
