| Barcelona Spain - Historical and Colorful Capital of CataloniaLocated on the northeastern coast of Spain on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain in both size and population and the capital of Catalonia province. While Barcelona has had substantial growth dating back to the Industrial Revolution of the late 19th century, membership in the European Union (EU) has accelerated its growth and prosperity of its people. With a documented history of the city dating back to the founding of a Roman colony in the second century BC, it is a mecca for tourists rich in historical buildings and monuments; major art collections of modernists Pablo Picaso and Jean Miro, both long-time residents; the organic architecture of Antoni Gaudi, quaint streets; tapa bars and Mediterranean splendor.
All photos below are posted to Flickr! Viewing albums on Flickr is a little tricky. The easiest way is (1) open the set and then (2) choose Detail view in the lower left corner. This will open the set so you can see a larger thumbnail of each photo and its description. If you do this, you can quickly view thumbnails and expand to see enlarged views for any and all pictures. You may also choose to view each set as a Slide Show. If you have an account with Flickr and you sign in, I would also appreciate any comments you might have and your vote for your favorite photos.
You can change the images in the Flickr panels above by pressing the F5 key
